30.01.2008
By signing a voluntary commitment leading German manufacturers of IT security products have confirmed: “Our IT security products do not contain any concealed access contingencies”. Funkwerk IP-Appliances GmbH is signer of the statement for its products PacketAlarm IDS/IPS.

Within today’s press release of the export initiative “IT Security made in Germany (ITSMIG)” it says: The export initiative “IT Security made in Germany“, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economy and Technology, and its 40 companies count on the positive connotations associated worldwide with the brand “Made in Germany”. All over the world German products are associated with functional capability, reliability, usability, standard conformity, integrity and security, in short: very high quality.

The German IT security companies organised in ITSMIG have now substantiated this promise of quality in regards to one essential issue. The ITSMIG members are committed to developing software without hidden backdoors.

Furthermore they say: “This is one of the most significant quality features provided by the export initiative, giving its customers the certainty of acquiring IT security products that do not contain any security risks due to concealed access contingencies or weakened encryption mechanisms”.
